Our journey began with a vacation trip in January 2010. We met David Cantrell for breakfast at Denny's to introduce ourselves and let him know that we did want to look at a couple of houses he had listed while we were here.

He showed us homes as well as what Grecia had to offer in the way of eating and shopping. We met so many friendly and helpful people even with the language barrier.
The local people (Ticos) truly want us to be in their country unlike Mexico. Our first impression of David was that he was an honest and very down to earth person that we could trust. We left Grecia with the feelings that this was the place we wanted to retire. I took a trip a few months later alone and looked at the house we saw on the first trip.(we really liked the house)

David made sure that I was comfortable and had what I needed during my stay. He explained all the processes and introduced me to numerous people that had also moved to this area.

We then decided to buy the house as it was a one of a kind design. During the process, David suggested things but never made us feel we HAD to do things his way. He always gave us options to look at. Our third trip to finalize the house was with David showing a continued friendly, helpful attitude. He assisted us with getting things like electricity startup, water, cable, internet, and cell phones. He explained what type of items we would want to bring from the States because some things are more expensive down here. He has continued to be a great resource for vendors and contacts while we get our feet wet and learn the language.

I cannot say enough about our experience with David Cantrell, but I can tell you that I would for sure use David and would highly recommend him to my best friends.

With my wife and I having been in the home building/real estate industry for almost 30 years, we were delighted to find a realtor with both your candor and professionalism. Your love for Costa Rica, and in particular Grecia became apparent at our first meeting, and carried throughout the next day.

Being the skeptic that I am, I questioned your description of the 'first' piece of property you wanted to show us, all the way up until we exited your car and stood on the site. Seeing the view from this home site for the first time actually 'Took Our Breath Away', and sold both Gerry and I on the location and also on becoming one of your neighbors.

Your contacts within Grecia performed over and above our expectations, allowing us to not only write an option contract on the property, but also to formalize a corporation all within a span of only 4 hours, something I have since learned is virtually impossible. In our original communication with you, you stated that you would be willing to assist us in 'any manner we required'. Once again I was skeptical, but the ease in which we were able to discuss complicated points on both land acquisition and new construction/design requirements removed, forever, any doubt I had concerning your abilities and true desire to be helpful considering you were letting a complete stranger like me 'pick your brain'.

Gerry and I want to thank both you and Cheryl for your invaluable ssistance and also for inviting us into your home and hopefully your circle of friends. We now have a 'Definite Destination', rather than vague idea of where we are going to enjoy our retirement.

You made our trip the best it could possibly be! We took a lot of beautiful pictures and have shared them with our friends and all of them are excited about how great the country is and how great the temperature is there year round.

It seems that all the people who have moved there really love it just like you.
